Are You A Ninety-Eight Pound Weakling
Posted in Fun Stuff |Many years ago Charles Atlas was made famous with a bunch of ads about a ninety eight pound weakling who always got sand kicked in his face when he was at the beach. These advertisements promised that a person would not have to be bullied on any longer. The ideas that are being sent out by these companies is still the same, even though the ideas are as old as the hills.
Often times, someone will want to improve the fitness level that they have. No two people have the same perception of what shape they want to appear. How to get the look that you want is another thing that is unique for just about everyone. While some people can spend fifteen minutes a day doing a set of six pack ab exercises, there are others who must work at losing weight and exercising twenty four hours a day and seven days a week in order to get the results that they are looking for. The principle of any diet and exercise program are similar even if the methods that they use are not similar.
The first principle is to control the diet. While a person who is overweight might want to be told how to lose weight fast, that is not always the ideal way to lose the weight and to keep it off and it is not always healthy for a person to undertake this weight loss method since there can be harmful side effects to a drastic weight loss program. A balanced diet that provides good nutrition without the fat and calories is a good way for someone to lose weight and to keep it off. Fad diets provide an ability for someone to lose weight quickly, but the dieter must learn ways to eat that will last for a lifetime. Over the course of a lifetime in order to maintain a healthy weight a person must adjust their lifestyle to something that is healthier. Nobody enjoys dieting, and if a person wants to get to a healthy weight and maintain that weight they need to eat healthier.
Along with controlling what a person eats, there also must be some type of fitness program involved. Another aspect that must be addressed is the need to workout on a regular basis. If a person wants to keep up with a fitness routine, they must look for something that interests them and that they will do. Depending on how much free time and extra cash a person has available, they may be able to join a health club. Fitness clubs have many advantages for a person that are not always available elsewhere. You can join one of the many fitness classes that a club offers for people to workout. A fitness club allows you to socialize while you exercise and to have a good time while you sweat. An added benefit of working out at a health club is that there are others there who understand what you are facing in your weight loss journey. A health club does not provide the answer for everyone, but that should not be a barrier because there are other ways too get fit. A person can work out in their own home. When the weather is nice take advantage of it and take a walk around the neighborhood. When it is cold or raining get indoors at a mall where there are plenty of people getting their workout in. There are a lot of people who have discovered that it is a great way to workout and meet people. Strolling around the mall before it opens is a well known activity.
The last thing a person needs is support of others, which can be found in a gym, or at the mall, or even on the internet where people often join chat rooms like the biggest loser forum. Being out of shape can make a person feel ostracized, but when they see another person fighting the fight with them it is very helpful If there is someone to push you on the days that you don’t feel like following your program, it is easier to make it through the tough patches. Charles Atlas let us know that we don’t have to accept our body the way that it is. The only person who can stop you is yourself. It just takes time and effort.
